Sweden 🇸🇪 vs France 🇫🇷

Long day at work and busy off and on. But, now when we are two to share the work everything is easier and more enjoyable.

Tonight we are facing possibly the toughest opponent in the world – France. If we manage to defeat them we will go thru to the 8th final. The winner tonight will face Paraguay, who defeated Germany last night.

Hubby and I are tucked in our corners, cheering the best we can. I’m glad he decided to join me – much more fun to watch together. Now – fingers crossed our yellow and blue team will make us extra proud!

Two again

Today my colleague came back from her vacation so now we are two again to share the chores. Nice. I have missed having her company – much more enjoyable to be two than being alone.

Very warm day again, nice and sunny. But the forecast promises rain for the next 10 days or so starting Wednesday. That’s ok – but after that we want the nice sunny weather back again!

Made a lasagna for dinner tonight and it turned out pretty good. Perfect leftovers too. And now we’ve crashed in our corners with one tea and a bowl of coffee ice cream. Yum.

Chandos Beauty

My roses are in full bloom now and the other day this champagne-colored one called Chandos Beauty charmed us all. Love it!

It’s been a grey day with some thunder, lightning and rainfall in the afternoon and very warm. It cleared up fairly quickly though so we might be able to bbq after all. We have some pork loin back ribs that we wanted to try. Apparently they take forever to cook though, so we’ll see if we make it.

Hubby bought a fan – one of those high ones standing on the floor. Great in this heat to get some circulation of the air. It doesn’t cool but still helps.

Night owl

Another really hot day and we are quite miserable in this heat. Close to 30C is not what we are used to.

We did our usual rounds this morning and after lunch we’ve been busy with various things.

Tonight we bbq some chicken filet, served with pasta and a very spicy tomato sauce. Melon for afters. We sat outside because it is way too warm in our kitchen.

Now we are watching a Netflix movie called “In the hand of Dante”. Yesterday we watched “Je M’appelle Agneta”. A very different but quite a good movie. We also watched “Remarkably Bright Creatures” the other day – I love Sally Field! She is great.

My hometown

It’s been really hot all over Europe this week and Stockholm is no exception. We’ve had almost 30C which is really rare, especially in June.

After work I strolled thru the city to get some steps in and clear my mind. I love this sign that they have put up by Slussen, visible from both sides. A fun new element.

Now I’ve crashed in my corner for a bit while I’ve run some laundry. We’ll probably pick up some dinner later. I’m still waiting for the meds to arrive that I ordered two days ago hoping they would arrive the following morning. But, no such luck. Fortunately I had some old meds that I have been able to take instead. No good being without the inflammatory meds this early after my accident.

Oh – and we managed to play an even 1-1 last night towards Japan. So, we’re clear for the next round!

Another birthday

A long workday and quite busy, but I managed to complete all that I had on my table.

After work we were invited to dinner to celebrate my father-in-law’s birthday. A lovely dinner with delicious salmon with a lot of nice garniture. Strawberries with ice cream for afters and then a cup of tea to end a lovely evening.

Tonight our team are playing the last game in the group play, this time facing Japan. A win would be nice. An even game ok. But I think we might juggle through with a loss too, depending on how the other teams are doing. I guess I’ll know when I wake up tomorrow.

Birthday

What a day! First of all – happy birthday, sis! I hope you had a great day in our paradise with the family members down there.

I worked a short day today and had booked an appointment at the hairdresser after lunch. On my way there I tripped and fell over something on the street. Hurt my shoulder, right hand started to bleed and left hand crushed. I went to my appointment and she took very good care of me – haircut turned out great.

On my way home I stopped by my parent’s house to pick up their mail, feed the fish and water their plants. Everything looked ok.

When I got home, I realized that I had hurt myself more than I first thought so I called the medical care hotline and they recommended that I’d call the local care center. They recommended me to get to the local emergency ward and get a proper check up by a doctor and maybe an X-rage since they thought I had fractured the scapoid bone.

4 hrs later we are back home again. The X-rage didn’t show a fracture so I don’t need a cast, thank God. But, I am bruised and knocked about and my wrist hurt like hell. The doctor prescribed strong painkillers and to take it easy for a few days. I shall return next week if it still hurts. Fingers crossed I feel better soon.

What a day

Long busy day. Puh. But, one step at a time and I’ll get thru all the assignments. Nice start with breakfast and nice afternoon with birthday celebrations – what a treat!

Finished some of the leftovers for dinner and now I’m tucked in my corner waiting for the first episode of “AllsÃ¥ng pÃ¥ Skansen” to start. Nice tradition. I’m sure my family are enjoying their Tuesday-treats and maybe a nice glass of bubbly. Just a few more weeks and then we can enjoy it together!

Date

Monday already. Even though we had a long weekend to enjoy, time passes by way too quickly.

Had a lunch date today with my friend. Nice to see her again and we had a lot to discuss even though we had lunch only a few weeks ago.

Picked up some strawberries on my way home and now I have fed the troops spagetti bolognese with strawberries for afters.

My African violets are in full bloom now. They remind me of my grandmother – she always had several in various colors.

New decorations

Another lovely sunny warm day and we’ve enjoyed the day off! I’ve been sorting out weeds from my flower beds and bought some new flowers to decorate our front porch. Hubby has continued working on the gate, removing moss from the lawn and doing some paint jobs. Busy busy.

So, we rewarded our hard work with an ice cream at Josefs Ice cream, which is on walking distance from us by the lake. I chose a pistachio flavor and it was delicious.

For dinner we bbq some hotdogs and now we are just relaxing getting ready for another work week.
