Kroppkakor

A traditional take-away dinner on Öland is the local dish “kroppkakor”. A potato dumpling filled with smoked pork and onions. Served with lingon berry jam and / or melted butter and / or heavy cream. Mmmm. A glass of beer is a great complement to the dish. 

A lovely sunny day. We have been working in the garden a bit. My sister has worked on her decorations – she is so clever. I have cleared a bit of the plantation from weeds and put some pumpkin seeds in the ground. We’ll see if they will develop plants or not. The seeds are from pumpkins grown here on Öland that I have kept to plant. 

Me and my parents drove up to the north part of Öland to pick up some homemade honey from a local beekeeper. It was a lovely drive in and we chose the road along the coastline going back. Nice.
