Time to pack the car and start the long drive back to the city again. A bit cloudy day but no rain, so that was good. 

We managed to get on the road at 9AM and we were back home about 8 hrs later. Took our time during our breaks – no rush. A bit of traffic as we approached Stockholm, but otherwise hardly any cars at all. 

Now I’ve had dinner with my troops and also done my laundry. Showered and ready for work tomorrow. A busy week ahead but mostly fun things, so that is good. 

It’s been a good time away and I’m y glad we could go all four of us and attend the funeral as a family. And it was nice to be able to stay the whole weekend! 

This morning my cousin and uncle packed the car and started the long drive back to Stockholm. 

A lovely sunny day so we decided to drive in to Borgholm and have a look around. Dad stayed at home and enjoyed the silence. Lol. We looked in the open stores on the main street but didn’t really find anything special besides a few bits and pieces. I wanted to find something to wear to work, but no such luck. 

We skipped having lunch in town and bought something to make for dinner at home tonight instead. This afternoon we could enjoy a lovely sunset – the sun disappeared behind the horizon shortly after 3 PM already. One last evening in our paradise to enjoy this visit. 

A very windy day and a bit rainy off and on. We did take a 2k stroll around the area to get some fresh air. 

A sad day saying goodbye to a relative. The ceremony was held in Föra kyrka with burial of the urn afterwards. A very nice ceremony with just the closest family and a get-together afterwards enjoying some food and coffee. 

I am so glad we were able to participate and pay our respects on this sad day. A special memory to cherish. 

A day spent in the car driving down to our paradise for a long weekend together. Nice to spend time just the four of us for a few days, even though the reason for our visit is anything but fun. We are attending a funeral tomorrow. 

There was quite busy on the road the first hour with a lot of traffic, but the rest of  the drive went without any problems. Me and my sister took turns and we stopped at our usual places for food, coffee and bathroom breaks. 

Now we are settled in – lit a cozy fire in the fireplace, found the advent candlestick and my sister is making a pasta bolognese for dinner. Hopefully we will sleep very well tonight after a long day in the car and a nice meal (and a glass of red wine). 

Today it is my husbands turn to celebrate his birthday – so now we are the same age again for the next couple of months. Lol. 

I had a “date” with my piano tuner this afternoon. Can’t believe it’s been three years since he was here the last time. He keeps a journal in my piano so he could see when he was here the last time. I should have the piano tuned every year — other year but for some reason I didn’t get around to it last year, so it was well over due. Now it is as good as new again! 

Tonight my parents-in-law will come over to celebrate their son. I have bought a cake (didn’t have time to bake one), but I did bake buns so they get something home baked too. My part of the family celebrated him last weekend, since some of them couldn’t make it tonight. 

A very busy day today. We managed to take a break and go for a nice lunch walk and picked up some lunch to bring back to the office. A repeat from the other day with a salmon bowl from Hawaiian Poke. Mm. 

This photo was taken when we visited Sigtuna old town and the Tant Brun café. Such a lovely place and the carrot cake was amazing. I would love to return sometime. 

Made meatballs with pasta for dinner. Just a package of frozen ones to make it quick and easy. Now some corner time to end the day. 

Today we had some errands to the big department stort NK. They had put up their huge Xmas tree in the ceiling of entrance to the store – as they traditionally do every year. This year with a slight twist of Pippi Långstrump if you see the legs with two different stockings under the tree. 

Got home to some house chores and me-time. My youngest was home today and did his school work from here instead. So, I have someone else in the house. 

It is very slippery outside with snow melting at the same time as it freezes again. Terrible conditions and a challenge to get safely to work and back. 

Managed to sleep in a bit today and woke up at 9 AM. Perfect. 

Did some house chores – ironing, laundry etc. Made asparagus soup for lunch. Then we decided to take a nice long stroll around the lake to get some fresh air and steps in. It was quite slippery but I have good shoes with spikes under so I was fine. 1 hr 20 min later we arrived back home again. 

I was hoping to be able to enjoy the soccer game on TV this afternoon, but apparently they don’t broadcast it on any channel that I have access to. So, we’re watching a new Netflix series instead called “The beast in me” with the lead actress from “Homeland”. Our oldest is with his friends today so only three for dinner tonight. 

Happy birthday, mom! Love you! 

I got the best surprise this morning – a text message from my masseur asking me if I was interested in a treatment today since she had a cancellation. So sweet of her to ask -and I happily accepted! 

After breakfast we walked over to my parents to borrow their car for the day so we could handle our grocery shopping a bit easier. And I could drive to my appointment too! And then tonight we could return the car when we went over to my parents to celebrate my mother. 

She treated us to a very nice dinner, all 10 of us (except K). We celebrated my husband too tonight, with my part of the family. His part of the family will join us on his birthday on Wednesday. 

A very busy Friday and we needed a pick-us-up-lunch not too far away from the office. So, we picked up some bowls from Hawaiian Poke. I chose their salmon one with edamame, mango, avocado and rice. Mmm. 

Winter arrived this week and there is snow everywhere. Not too bad though and most traffic has worked with little to no delays. Good. The temperature dropped down to -10C the other day but now it is getting warmer and by next week the snow will be gone again. 

Tonight me and my oldest are going to make the dinner – a wok with his special hot sauce. Fun to do it together!
