This morning the alarm woke us up a bit earlier than usual since our oldest was taking the bus back to the real world again. He has arrived at home now and everything went well.
After breakfast it was time for my parents to pack themselves into their car and drive all the way over to Karlstad for a long weekend of track-and-field in the Swedish Championship. They arrived close to 9 hrs later and everything went well for them too. Good.
We’ve been busy today with various things. I have done some laundry and my sis has mowed the lawn. This afternoon me, hubby, brother-in-law and oldest niece decided to go for a long walk in the nature reserve bird park close to where we live. It is about 6k and it took us close to 2hrs and 10.000 steps. But, it was a nice stroll with not too many cows in our way this time. Lol.
Now I’m whacked and dinner in a few sounds lovely. K is preparing the potatoes and J is on bbq duty. It will be delicious, I’m sure.
Oh – and Hammarby managed to win after a goal in 119 min and won 2-1 towards Charleroi! Wow. Next ECL-qualification round starting on Thursday.
Girls day
Midweek and we decided to take a girls day in Borgholm while the boys stayed at home and worked on the preparations for the air heat pump. Perfect allocation of chores! Lol.
We shopped for a bit and then took a nice break for lunch. We tried their omelettes (I chose a shrimp one) and K had a salad. Then we continued on our shopping spree and I found a black knitted long skirt – perfect all year around – and a nice black knitted top to go with. All on sale for half price. Perfect.
Picked up groceries on our way back and then made a lovely spagetti dinner served with a yummy sauce with the meat leftovers from yesterday. Mmm. Now I’ve taken a quick walk to get my steps in.
M is enjoying his last evening in paradise – tomorrow morning he is taking the bus back to the city. My parents are leaving too, but they will be back after the weekend.
Guests
This morning it was raining and quite windy so we postponed our morning dip in the ocean until after lunch. Lol. It was 22.1C by then so almost too warm to cool us down.
My parents-in-law and aunt G (103 years old and doing great – amazing) arrived in time for our afternoon coffee. I had made my chocolate cake served with fresh strawberries and a selection of ice creams. We could sit outside but it got quite windy after a while so we decided to have dinner indoors.
They treated us great flank steaks which we bbq and made oven baked potatoes, carrots and onions to go with. Served with different bearnaise sauces and a salad. And a glass of red, or whatever one preferred.
A great day in so many ways. Thank you, everyone, for making it happen!
Kalleguta
A very busy start of the week. This morning, our hubbies went to rent a trailer and also bought the long pipe that we will use underneath our house to have the outer part of the air heat pump on the opposite side of the house from the inside part.
Since we had the trailer for a few hours, we also filled it with 17 bags of clippings from the treas along with some other stuff that we needed to take to the waste disposal site. Perfect to get all that done!
Tonight my sister made a delicious sauce and linguini pasta enjoyed with a glass of white. The rain they had promised hasn’t arrived yet, but we did get an amazing sunset and almost a full rainbow tonight. The forecast says it will rain tonight though.
Ice-cream

Sunday and a day of rest. Put most of the work aside and decided to take a trip into Borgholm for a visit to Ölandsglass. They make their own ice cream and we are always pleased after a visit there. Our oldest had one thing he wanted to do – get ice cream in town. So, said and done. I chose one cone with pistachio and one with cappuccino and it was delicious.
When we got back home I prepared the lasagna for our dinner so I could sit down and cheer on our team playing towards Värnamo today. We started really well with an early goal, but then we had to struggle a bit but finally we won with 3-2. Puh. The four teams that are playing in the European qualifying rounds are not participating in Allsvenskan next round, so our team has a two week break from Allsvenskan now. However, a very important re-match on Thursday which we need to win or we are out.
At the end of the rainbow
This morning, as we were going to our dip in the ocean, it started to rain slightly and a rainbow appeared. It looked like the end of the rainbow reached our property and the flagpole. At the end of the rainbow you will find paradise / a treasure = true!
We’ve been busy bees today and put back all the things to our guest-room. Also, our cousin wanted to keep our old bunk-bed in their guest-room (we borred the space for storage while renovating), so that was great. Extra beds might come in hand when you least know it.
My hubby and brother-in-law have prepared the concrete fundament for the air heat pump. Hard work and they did a great job!
Tonight we have sat outside and enjoyed a sausage dinner with a fridge-clear-out of leftovers. Perfect. Now we are just enjoying a quiet evening and waiting for the sunset.
Delivery
Today it was above 20C in the water in the morning dip for the first time for me this summer. Lovely!
After breakfast our delivery from IKEA arrived. I spent the morning cleaning out the renovation stuff and also moped the floor and walls. Then after lunch we started to put this bunk bed together. It took us almost 4hrs of blood, sweat and tears. Lol. But, me and my sis struggled thru with great help from my husband. And – ta-da! The room turned out great and I hope it will be well used by family and friends.
Tonight we bbq pork with ovenbaked potatoes. Another lovely evening to sit outside, chat, enjoy a good meal and a glass of wine. Afterwards we played some cards and then we went for an evening walk to get enough steps to complete the day.

This morning my mother raised the flag for me and my oldest niece – it is our names day today. A name we have been given to honor my grandmother.
18.5 in the ocean this morning – wow! And my oldest niece arrived last night and she joins us in the morning dip, so that was nice!
I have been working on our project today and finished painting the ceiling and cornice. Perfect. Tomorrow the new bed will be delivered and we will be able to put it in place since I’ve finished the renovation.
This afternoon we had two guests over and they also stayed for dinner. My mother cooked a lovely salmon served with potatoes, green peas and hollandaise sauce. Mmm.
A lovely sunset to end a very productive and intense day. Oh, and Hammarby played 0-0 in the qualification to the ECL. Bummer. A win would definitely have been preferred. Now we need to win the next game.
Work work
It was raining this morning but cleared up in time for our morning dip in the ocean. And it was quite nice in the water after the rain – 18.5C!
We’ve been busy bees all day working on our projects. We have emptied our guest room and given it a good clean. Also prepared the ceiling and cornice so it is ready for some paint, hopefully tomorrow.
We have also started to installe a switch to the air heat pump. Now we need to make a concrete foundation for the stand and also buy sort of a tube to put under the house in order to reach the indoor part of the pump on the other side of the house. Puh. One step at a time.
Shopping
After our morning routine me, hubby, sis and brother-in-law packed ourselves into our car and we drove to Kalmar to get various things.
We managed to find most of the things on our list so that was great. Tomorrow we will start working on our projects – I hope we manage to do so since the weather forecast doesn’t look too promising. We have indoor things we can work on if that is the case.
Mom prepared a lovely dinner with her home made patties, served with plenty of fried onions, boiled potatoes and lingonberry jam. And a glass of beer.
Tonight me and my sister went down for a dip in the ocean. It’s been av very warm day and it is still almost 30C outside. Perfect way to cool down. Now some fresh strawberries as an evening treat while watching “Allsång på Skansen”.
