A bit of a rainy start of the new week this last day of August. September awaits with a lot of fun things to look forward to.
Got home on time (almost) and had a quiet afternoon to myself. Made patties for dinner served with mash / pasta and lingonberry jam.
Now some corner time watching a couple of episodes of a Netflix series called “Spooky in Love”. Not sure I like it, but I will give it a go. We also started watching the Swedish series “Tills döden skiljer oss” yesterday. So far so good!
Eventful day
Today I reached a 1500 day streak of Duolingo! Amazing.
My husband has cleaned our spa today so it is ready to be enjoyed during chilly fall evenings or cold winter days. Lovely.
Last day of Finnkampen – and I watched it from the comfort of my corner. Just made a break to cheer on our team in the derby towards AIK (which we lost 3-2 after a very eventful game we should have won).
After the second day – congratulations to Finland who won 3 out of 4 and congratulations to our Swedish ladies!

Rainy day
A rainy Saturday. We have done our regular chores and now we can enjoy some indoor time due to the bad weather. Tomorrow it will clear up so then we will probably work outside.
This weekend it is time for Finnkampen – but it is held in Helsinki this year so we won’t attend. But, they send it on TV so we can follow the competition from the comfort of our corners. Lovely. Go Sweden!

Friday
Today we had made reservations at Napolyon for lunch. One of our favorite restaurants but we haven’t been there in ages. The dish of the day was fish & chips and it was delicious.
Had a nice afternoon at home and prepared a beef dinner with potato gratin for dinner.
Now some corner time watching another couple of episodes of “Dark” – let the weekend begin!
Yellow rose
This year my roses on the frontside of our house have bloomed a lot but they haven’t grown as tall as last year for some reason. This yellow beauty is still in bloom with new buds waiting to bloom. Lovely.
Long day today and not too much on so I got home on time. Even left a bit early because I needed to hand in an envelope to the courier center.
Made a wok for dinner with chicken. Now some time in front of the TV before it is time to hug my pillow. I hope I will sleep better tonight – had some things that bothered my mind last night. Hopefully those chimaeras are gone tonight.

M bjöd på kycklinggryta med ris o sallad. Jättegott! Och franska våfflor till fikat i fina koppar!
En kväll full av prat och diskussioner – vi kom in på politik, vilket kanske var lite otippat. Men men. Det är ju ändå val snart..
Tired
Early start since we have our breakfast meeting in the morning. Picked up the rolls on my way to work. Everything went well. A very slow afternoon and finally the clock turned 5PM so I could head back home.
We all chose from the leftovers for dinner. My choice fell on the fish casserole.
Now we are tucked in our corners watching the third season of “Dark”. Time to start the kettle and get some tea on the table.
Dentist
Monday and an early start since I had a dentist appointment before work. A few years ago I transferred to a new dentist right next to my office. And she is great too. Perfect.
Very busy short day but I managed to go home on time. This afternoon I have been busy preparing a fish casserole for dinner – taco for the boys. The casserole turned out great, and there are leftovers for another day too.
Now some time in my corner and tea on the way.
Castle of the month – Åkeshof
A lovely sunny Sunday so we asked our friends if they wanted to come along to see Åkeshof Castle in Bromma. They hosted a harvest market today with locally produced veggies, home made marmalade and jam, sausages and game meat etc. About 30 exhibitors all together.
We looked around the market and also enjoyed a fika (carrot cake and a lemonade) in the garden before we headed back home after a lovely couple of hours together.
The castle was built back in the 17th century but the estate origins back to the 14th century. The castle also has a lovely garden and an orangery. It is today a conference establishment and restaurant.
Good day
A rainy Saturday and I woke up early. I dreamt all sorts of work-stuff and I wasn’t able to go back to sleep again so I gave up and enjoyed a quiet breakfast instead while running the first laundry.
We did our usual Saturday rounds, finished some leftovers for lunch and then I headed over to my masseuse for some me-time. Met my sister there who had the appointment before me. Lovely.
Now some corner-time zipping on a coffee before it is time to get ready to go over to see our friends for dinner. We are thinking about going on a long weekend trip together and hopefully we will be able to find something we can book. Fingers crossed!
